私について
A bit about myself:
I am a (food) tour guide, inbound consultant, and travel influencer, based in Kawaguchi City, Saitama.
I especially focus on the promotion of the Japanese countryside, assisting businesses and local tourism boards with the promotion of their hidden treasures. So far I have worked with well-known names such as ANA/Odyssey Japan, the tourism boards of Shizuoka, Tottori, Yamaguchi and Kochi prefectures, just to name a few.
My main focus is food and “Japan on and off the beaten path”. Feeling strongly about promoting small and family-run businesses, endangered local arts and encouraging a more sustainable way of traveling against over-tourism, I started my own food tour business in Tokyo to bring on the change that I wanted to see. at the beginning of 2017, “Foodie Adventure Japan” was one of Japan’s first food tour businesses, and the first in Japan to introduce vegan and gluten-free food tours, to help travelers with special dietary requirements. Additionally, Foodie Adventure Japan is the world’s only to offer a very unique “Instalicious” food tour (インスタ映えツアー), which has been one of my most popular tours.
Over the past 7 years, I have nurtured a fresh and fun, Japan-loving community on Instagram. I hope to grow this community even bigger to spread more kindness and curiosity for Japan – on and off the beaten path! Many of my followers are German, but the largest groups are made up of followers from the USA, Australia and Foreigners (and international-minded Japanese) living in Japan.
Being bi-cultural and multilingual, I add my unique spin on showing different sides of Japan. Apart from representing more diversity, I draw big inspiration from my idol Anthony Bourdain. His humble and grateful way to travel and share stories has been my biggest influence so far. I hope to share Japan-stories from all over Japan, from known and lesser-known places. Especially sharing the local’s dishes, festivals, artisan crafts and explain their roots with respect and curiosity.
My ultimate goal is to promote a more sustainable way to travel, which benefits both the travelers and the locals.
